Maryland State Education Association
Sean Johnson is the Assistant Executive Director for Political and Legislative Affairs for the Maryland State Education Association (MSEA). He serves as the chief lobbyist and political director for the 70,000 member association. Sean joined MSEA following the 2010 elections.
Prior to coming to MSEA, Sean served as the Senior Campaign Specialist in the Campaigns and Elections Department at the National Education Association (NEA).
Sean has 19 years of campaign experience, managing and serving on staff of various local, state and national campaigns. He also has extensive background in political organizing, message development, and strategic communications through his years as a political organizer and campaign consultant.
He lives in La Plata, Maryland (Charles County) with his wife, Rhya Marohn, and their two children, Sydney and Carter.
